  1. Haha, not at all... we can swap and change between casual and formal if you wish

Well you see, grade boundaries are altered each ear, but they're different for each exam anyway. Not many people appreciate the difference between A and A*. In many cases A* is pushing towards 90-100%. I was looking at the newspaper the other day and apparently out of all the females who took the exam, only 7% managed an A*.

    Oh wow, sounds good
    What was the gift?
  2. Greetings, lovely lady!! (hmm... was that too formal? )

Of course it means a lot to me! I'm very happy that you did so good, so I'm most likely to go celebrate myself on your behalf!
Just one question... what's the difference between A* and A'? I'm guessing one to be a bit higher than the other, right? (Sorry, I'm not fully familiar with your grading system )

A couple days ago I received a package from a friend in Louisiana (first one I met on the web), as an early birthday present, so I can say I'm very happy. It's the first time I receive a birthday present from someone so far from my home
  3. Hello there!
Yes, we haven't spoken in some time, I do believe.
    How are you doing?
I've been celebrating mainly, on account of my GCSE exam results.
I don't know if this will mean anything to you, but I got 7 A*s and 4 A's... very pleased indeed.
  4. Hmm... there's someone in Manchester whom I haven't talked to for some time and I'm beginning to miss her?

Where would that lady be... and doing what?
  5. Finally!

I've been contemplating a certain picture of a certain lady with a certain "W" in a certain part of her user name

Other than that, I've been giving PC operation classes to this old lady who doesn't stop talking. She used to be a teacher and now writes novels. Are all writers like that? Will they ever stop chatting to give space for my vocal chords? I am supposed to be the teacher this time
  6. Hello there!

I completely forgot I owed you a reply.

    How are you doing?
  7. I'll make a sacred oath. If I should ever become the ultimate painter, my first masterpiece will go directly to you!

They couldn't draw on you because you blinded them with sequin reflections, I believe
  8. Haha, I will hold you to that. When you're a famous artist, I can be quite smug because I will be in possession of a Maximilianus Original.

That is true. How are we to know if our work is any good when people are so set upon humouring us!

Ah well... we shall just accept the compliments - ignorance is bliss, apparently.

The party went very well thank you; it was quite a small and relaxed one. So relaxed, that I was asleep on the sofa by about 12.30. I'm fortunate nobody drew on me!

My dress was entirely covered in sequins, so whenever I walked into a room, the sun shone on it and it created all these light patterns on the walls - like a human disco ball.
  9. Okay, I will draw something to show you, so you can see what a... HOPELESS DRAWER I AM

As for writing, I believe I can do better with it... but who knows... only those who read your work can give an idea of how good it can be. I suppose it is the same with drawing.

Probably if a few people like what we do, then it's not so bad. Of course, there may be a chance that they say they like it just to make us feel better, even when they don't like it at all, but how do we know?

(Tell me about that dress and party )
  10. Well, my parents come home tomorrow!

I think I've done very well in terms of house keeping... (aside from the blinds I appear to have jammed in the kitchen.. oh dear.)

Tonight I'm going to another party, and I think I shall wear my new dress - it's very sparkly.

Hm... I suppose a book like that could better your drawing skills to some extent, but say if you were already quite bad at drawing, it wouldn't turn you into an artist. If you already had some talent for it, I suppose it would refine your work just a little.

As for me, hmm... some days I'll be fairly good at it, and other days not so much. It's strange. But I'm never happy with my work - the same with my writing.

    What about you?
