I'm there now, what cheeks!
LOL, ok. If you go to my blog now you can see pictures of the baby.
Now Virg, you know I am not that ambitious. But I sit, in my sunny nook, with my trusty, old musty Constance Garnett translated book; I've got the Russian text on the screen to my left, and the Babel Fish translator on the right, I've got forvo (forvo.com) running in a small window and Russian 101 halfway finished in livemocha . I don't let many idioms go by, when my coffee is good and hot, without checking their meaning in the Cyrillic... it's pretty slow going, LOL, but I have a lot of fun. Did I mention, I'm not technically employed right now? LOL Anything to dodge around writing, right? Still haven't got to your blog -- AND I'M GOING TO. Maybe I'm jealous. I love to travel, only now it takes an amount of planning which removes most of the backpacking spontaneity I used to love. Sheesh, we should IM!
OMG, I'm having such a hard time just reading a menu and you're trying to read an entire novel in Russian? Kudos to you.
Yup, my signature is a Russian phrase taken from, "The Idiot", I'm trying to read in the original text -- it's crazy really, I don't know the language or even the alphabet. But Russia and her outlying neighbors have become fascinating to me -- there's so many wonderful places to see... and so little time (and money). I think it means: "nothing changes a guy more than looking at the past with regret." Which probably isn't really very true, but I liked it at the time. I must read your blog, the person before me has commented on it positively and what a great avatar she has!
Hey Capt. Is that Russian in your signature? I just noticed that, especially since I've been in a Russian speaking country now for over three weeks.
