I really dont know about the nutura. I dont live there I was just visiting. But where I live there are beavers and I HATE them. They screw up the irrigation on our ranch with their dams. The ranch is livestock and agriculture. During hay season I spend all my time on a tractor. We have about 1000 acres of hay so its quite a task to put it all up. Other than that I mostly do irrigation work. We have two large ditches, plus flood irrigating on the hay fields which is always a little complicated. And about 15 ponds that need to be regulated about twice a day (which fuels my hate of beavers even more). And then of course running the cattle to different pastures whenever needed, and putting them through the chutes for shots and such. Not to mention that we have bison as well, which are basicly huge pissed off cattle. Ive been charged plenty of times and even got rammed by one. (luckily I missed the horns, it still hurt though.) So do you work only with kualas (spelling?) or other animals?
Yeah, I felt kind of silly finding the explanation under photo. Sorry about the barrage of questions, I just like to know stuff So does the non-beaver makes dams? Also, I envy my job. At work, every second person says something along those lines. If I had a dollar... I tell them it is horrible just to see their reactions. He He He I am very lucky. So what sort of work do you do on the ranch? Is it just cattle? What is the actual definition of ranch? Is it like our (AUS) stations?
I just saw all your picture comments. So my answers are: No that is not a beaver but they are very closely related, the only difference is the teeth and the tail. One uses a swamp for fishing and food. And a combo of the two. Yes that is snow which made it a beautiful picture. I have too many of those pictures. My dog is a boy, and although he is a cattle dog at heart, the ranch I work at doesnt use dogs so I have never trained him. But he still herds whatever he can. And I think thats it! Thanks for all the comments.
He was bottle fed at that time so anything resembling a bottle he sucked on. My finger was the closest thing. If you read the picture caption in my album it explains it more. I envy your job.
I love the pic above! Is that calf being hand reared?
