As an off-topic, and since you have Santa nearer than I do, can you tell him to bring me a reindeer? Oh please, I want a reindeer and he has so many! Are Finns fond of fireworks? Here, Christmas and new year eves both turn into simulations of battlefields and the noise is so loud that dogs get terrified.
I'm glad you enjoyed Rajaton's songs, as it is one of my favourite "bands" (I know they're not a band, but "a vocal ensemble" is just too long expression for regular use). I don't know where Butterfly video was filmed, but it's a very typical Finnish landscape Most of Finland is just forests and lakes. Even all the "big" cities (we don't really have any, even Helsinki has only half a million people living in it) are surrounded by forests and this is called "the land of thousands of lakes". But yes, you are allowed to speak your mind about the songs I'm linking you I promise I won't get (too) mad even if you tell me you hate all my favourites
Hi Max, and Merry Christmas! I'm not sure if you knew, but we Finns like to take a head start to most holidays and celebrate often already on eves. So here Christmas Eve is the big thing. It's almost 11 pm now, we had a great dinner and exchanged some presents. Tomorrow there will be a family dinner at my uncle's place with my father's side of the family, though I can't go there because they have a dog and my allergies won't allow me to stay under the same roof with the animal. Last week was very cold (about 10 - 15 degrees below zero), but now it's getting warmer again, it's just a bit below zero. There's lots of snow though They've promised the temperature will drop 30 degrees below zero soon, but we'll see. My parents live in Helsinki too. I'm not that afraid of the cold, because our buildings are well-insulated. All Finnish houses have triple-glazed windows to keep the cold out where it belongs I hope you have a very happy Christmas

Yes, she might, but the beauty of living alone is that she doesn't need to know I'm still awake when it's soon 2 am. But to be honest, I'm pretty sure she'd be more upset about how late I woke up than the the fact I'm awake at the moment
