Wow, aside from the "Zonda", that sounds like heaven to me. I'm quite the sun worshipper you see. Unfortunately, the very highest our temperature goes is 25C; our summers are basically short periods of sunshine dotted about May-August. Manchester - where I live - is renowned for its rain, much to my dismay. Our winters are fairly chilly, the coldest being around -3/4 C. Last winter was excellent though because we had lots of snow (which bagged me a few days of school.) I really do wish we had more warm days though... the sun really makes me so much happier. Haha, maybe a literary genius will spawn from our insanity... with any luck!
Thank you It's a nice city, still somewhat peaceful though unfortunately crime has been rising lately. I figure it's a common problem everywhere. Wherever there are people we find the bad and the good. Now, summers are quite a subject here, reaching temps above 40 C, at times near 45. Last one was the longest I can recall, and I believe it's getting hotter every year because of this global warming issue. The worst days are those when there's this western wind blowing that we call Zonda. It comes from the Pacific and after crossing The Andes it looses its humidity at high altitudes to come down like the breath of a dragon. If it catches you in the open air, it feels as though you were breathing fire instead of oxygen, and that's why doctors always advice to stay indoors as much as possible until it goes away. It's very bad for people with heart conditions; it can cause a heart attack because you can't breathe normal fresh oxygen when this thing is blowing. What's good is that when the dragon flees, the southern wind comes almost immediately and it's like paradise, so fresh and pure and totally opposite. This is the worst of our weather; other than that it's very peaceful. I would love if it rained more frequently though, but rains here are quite uncommon (completely different from England). How about your place? What are summers like? What's the worst weather condition you can't bear? See? That's what I meant. We, writers (or wannabe ones), are royally insane! How will we reach the masterpiece of our life?
Oh wow, it looks fantastic. How hot does it get over there? Oh yes, certainly... Or you'll be confident of it one day, maybe even for a while, and you re-read it sometime later, and decide it's not quite as good.
I believe I'm the only one here (Argentinean, I mean), as far as I've seen. That's a beautiful pic, thanks for the link! This is an air view of my city, though I live rather in the suburbs too: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ntina_2008.jpg And yet another air view: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...nJuanDavid.jpg You look forward to reading my piece and I look forward to definitely giving it a final form Has it ever happened to you that at first you like something you've written and after you reread it there's something there that doesn't really fit? Probably others will like it but somehow it doesn't satisfy its creator
Haha, I know how you feel; I think I spend most of my time in some sort of dream. Wow, Argentina Unfortunately, that's not Manchester, haha. Manchester is probably the second largest city within the U.K... but I live in the suburbs. I'm not sure, it's difficult to describe really. I quite like it (and I think I said this in my interview) because I have easy access to both the city and countryside. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ower_block.jpg I look forward to reading your piece.
You will, I've decided to post it as soon as I can give it a final form My mother tongue is Spanish, I was born in Argentina, only child, 34-year-old all time dreamer (I even dream when I'm awake ), and looking for the perfect lady to be her hubby, and I don't mean that she has to be royally perfect, because I'm not myself and I believe that no one is, so I won't ask for what I cannot give. If you want to know anything else just ask. I have no problem about answering personal questions as long as they are asked politely. Is that pic of your avatar some scenery from Manchester? Tell me something about your place, okay? Good luck with the rewriting process. I'm sure you are gonna make it. I mean, you seem to be well versed in literary matters, which I've come to think is a very British feature since most Brits that I've come to know on the Web seem to be very much into literary knowledge.
I'd love to read it sometime. Oh, what's your first language? (I just realised I don't know... anything about you, haha) Ah yes, well... the seventh part was missing. But I decided to re-write, and that's currently a working progress. I can't seem to get the ending right just yet.
That was quite a long interview, and it's good, because the longer they are the better you get to know the person being interviewed. I will have to read it again to make sure I haven't skipped any details I'm doing fine, though rather obsessed with this poem I'm trying to shape. If it ever sees the light it's gonna be my first poem in English, so it would be something new in my habits as a newbie poet. I've been thinking, if I can finish it, to post it here and gather some opinions on it. I've taken a look at one of your posts; this story entitled "Amor a primera vista", already bookmarked to give it a better reading. I read there were gonna be seven parts but the thread has six. Did you ever finish the seventh or still working on it?
Hahaha, well I'm the type of person that does laugh in that sort of situation, and I'd have no problem with others laughing. It is nice to know that I would have some support though. I've no idea what I was thinking at all... clearly, I wasn't all there that morning. Anyway, did you enjoy my interview? It took rather a long time; but it got me out of revising for some time which was nice. How are you doing?
You want public to mock you in your very disgrace? If I had been there I would have pulled you out... though it must have been quite a comical scenery. Normally I don't mock people in their accidents not to make them feel bad because normally I don't want people to mock me in mine, and some people feel clearly bad when they have an accident, unless they laugh themselves in which case I can go with. Now, if there's a third person already laughing and only because laughter is contagious, I could be laughing too, but in any case I would have left you legs up there just for the sole purpose of mocking (It would be inhumane! ) I would have laughed a little while I was helping Hmmm... on the other hand... it never occurred to you to tip it over in the first place and reach inside, huh? ... hmmm ... What where you thinking about?
