I live in a dream world, I wish it was real. I wish I never had to come back here. I could just stay with my imagination in never never land all day long.

I guess that's how you get sent to the funny farm.

I'm not crazy. I'm just lonely and in dreamland people are so much nicer than in real life.

I'm a mess.

Best friends

We used to play cards
for hours and hours
on our living room floor.
Then you'd tell stories
about riding the Greyhound
and being engaged.
We'd stay up all night
and watch Disney movies
and you would laugh
and rollerblade
and lay on the couch
with your eyes closed.
You compared faith to abs
and then sang in the choir.
We planted a garden
and didn't take care of it.
We ate mexican food and
entertained Kevin.
Brooke would cook and
use your huge knives.
We'd put dirty dishes in Shan's bed
and stuff Tracy's door with wet leaves.
I hope you know that I love you.
I hope you know that I miss you.
I'll never tell you.
I'm scared what you might say
since we were never serious about anything.
Now I can only reminisce
about the time we spent
running from dreams and chasing fun.

I'm learning to play Rachmaninoff's first piano concerto and I'm so excited! I know that the most popular one is the second, but you have to start somewhere. Does anyone else play piano? Or any instrument for that matter? I play trombone as well, although I haven't touched it for a few months because of school and all. I adore classical music and so of course taking piano lessons on campus this year (I've taken them before but this is the first time at college) is really fun for me.
I should start a favorite composer poll! Or maybe country of favorite composers, mines Russian: Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky are the coolest.

Well, hello.
I shall introduce myself:
I'm seasong, I grew up near Washington DC and love that area. I'm in college studying biochemistry, but getting an english minor emphasis in creative writing. I love books of all kinds and collect them en masse in my apartment much to my roommate's dismay. I love chocolate and happy things. I love modern poetry and short stories.
Enough.

To the musings:
What about creative nonfiction, all? In other words, the personal essay. It seems to be a relatively undiscussed topic on this site, but it is an amazing genre. Has anyone read any of it? I recommend Brevity as a sample, the short shorts are free and will give you a great and brief sample. Just google it.
Let me know!
