I thought Psyche's list was great! So I wanted to do one of my own. Currently, I'm reading Homer's Iliad, which I definitely intend to finish. I started it a few years ago but got bored and bogged down in all the 'x killed y son of z' stuff . I started Victor Hugo's Les Miserables last year, but ended up putting it aside after 500 pages because I seemed to read and read and read without making any progress. It is time again for me to take a introspective look at what I am doing. I cant go to a bar and just have one drink, then leave. Every time I go out I end up drinking way more than I intended to. Last night for example I went to the local establishment to have a bite to eat & a drink, while I watched the Raptors. A drink gradually became ten, and I wasnt even particularly enjoying it, but kept drinking in order to get that warm fuzzy feeling. I ended up staying till close at 2 ...
OK. Three weeks till first night of the Panto "Dick Whittington" and I have to say I am not enjoying this one. I can do my scenes fine and I'm fully confident but not enthusiastic. That may change as it gets closer I suppose. Reading Jonathon Strange % Mr Norrell and I must say it is a good book hidden in 1000 pages of rubbish. The idea is good. The writing is good(ish) The Characters could have been good. It is just so slow with no tension in it.
