  1. Poetry of Convention

I have an indirect style of writing. For that reason, one subject that I like to approach is politics, or societal opinion. Here are two different poems.

    Subtleties

    Warring with a premise
    Persisting round expired frenet-

    Icism. Exaggerating recompense
    For over falsifying a tenet.

    Easily glossing a composition
    In its vital points.

So goes the art of politics
    And the congress ...

  2. Told My Mom

On Valentine’s day, my husband and I told my mother that we are adopting. I thought this was the perfect day to tell her since it was her birthday. The days leading up to it, I was trying to figure out the best way to tell her. I decided I would buy her a Valentine’s day card for a Grandma by her grandchild.

  3. Sulking

I am totally depressed right now becasue I got a C on my paper for my Milton/Paradise Lost class.

I know I should just get over it and forget about it since it is still a passing grade but it has been forever since the last time I have gotton lower then a B on a paper.

King Arthur: then, because his would was deep,
The bold Sir Bedivere uplifted him,
Sir Bedivere, the last of all his knight,
And bore him to a chapel nigh the field,
A broken chancel with a broken cross,
That stood on a dark strait of barren land. ...

  5. Inside Myself

    Inside Myself

    Weeping inside
    disappearing
    into quiet oblivion
    seeking to find a
    touch of Zen among
    the chaos echoing
    through all cells

    Torn between
    two states
    sliding through
    the cracks
    drawing further
    within

    Held by an
    indefinable string
    warmth spreads
    one sliver dies
    flaking away

    Averted
    in hope of
    escaping
