  1. Last Set of Fingerprints Part II

In my last blog I had stated that my husband and I were scheduled to get our last set of fingerprints taken for our adoption. Well we went on Monday to have this done.
Our appointment was for 9 AM so we had to leave the house at 7 AM to catch the bus to the ferry. Luckily we didn't have to wait long for the bus and then made the 7:30 ferry. From the ferry we had to hop on a train for about 5 stops. Going by bus, ferry and train only cost us $8 total (going in) instead of going by express ...

Hope is a tall beacon burning brightly
High up on a hill in the distant

It has been FOREVER since I've been on--or at least a long time.

FIVE MORE WEEKS. And then the semester will be over. Thank goodness. I've decided that I really--And I Mean Really-- don't like economics. It is interesting, but I can't stand it. I had my second microeconomics exam today and I am feeling pretty good about it. First time I've felt good about anything ...

  5. The Community Book

    Just a note:

A friend and former student of mine told me this story today. . . .

In high school, he and three other friends were concurrently reading this Robert Jordan fantasy novel over their study hall hours. They had study hall at different hours of the day, so they would leave the book for the next person of their group to read. And because everyone read at a different pace, there were four different book marks in the book as it went from reader to reader throughout ...
