    Voodoo Queen

    Twisted reality
    with a split grin
    the bruised lip
    sewn eyelids
    so the unseen
    see everything

    Smoke before
    the mirror
    rapped knuckles
    laughter of the dead

    They wake
    on moonless nights
    she on the throne
    of bone

    Mama Legba
    transcending
    through the serpents
    hiss

    Loss tantric
    drum beats
    whispering

  3. I stand amid the dust of mounded years.

    There are days when I’m just bubbling over with hope and excitement for the future. Days when there’s a peacefulness in my smile, when there’s a look in my eyes that I can see in the mirror. “God’s in His Heaven, All’s right with the world!” -- when I first memorized that poem for school I thought that was an inane poem and all that it merited was a huge “duh!” But as the years have passed it’s come up more and more in my thoughts until I realized that it expressed the type of hope and joy that ...

  4. Magnetic Fridge Poem 1

    Someone gave me a magnetic fridge poetry set recently and although I was thankful to get a present, I was in my heart slightly disappointed at this present, as I thought the limited vocabulary and word selection would limit to a great extent what I could write. But hey, I don't need to think like that, I think I can write lots of poems with it, or spark off some that I can develop elsewhere.
    Anyway here's the first one (it's almost a haiku, I suppose) :

  5. whatever i feel like

    does anyone know what Jillian means? There's this song "Jillian (I'd give my Heart)". i love the song, but i'm like confuzald as too what Jillian means. of course, it might just be a name. so yeah, just wondering.
    lol. last night was game night. i had fun. there were these two "kids" (they were both in there twenties, but whatever) and they rock at DDR! It was aswome watching them. save for the fact that trying to get in and out of the teeny-tiny room they where dancing
