So, I'm taking 2 weeks well earned leave from work. Since my husband was made redundant a few years ago, and we decided that he would become a house husband (and freelance web developer on the side), we've not been able to afford to go away for a holiday, but this is no problem because there's bags and bags of fun, free things to do nearby and it's a great opportunity for us to actually do them. I met an old friend last night. We talked of old things and old people, now. Their faces were young in my mind, though I'm sure that they are not now what saw in my mind's eye yesterday.

Our past lives on in stories -- old faces on new tales.

Who are they now? Lisa, Will, John, Karen -- snapshots in time. Facebook statuses. Oral histories. Friends now unknown to me.

Until next year, my old friend, when again have our annual dinner to catch up on our ever-retreating ...

So litnet knows i'm a lover of travelling. This year i havent done much bar a weekend in Worchester, Manchester and Edinburgh. I'll probably throw another weekend to Worcester in for later this year but i do have a couple of other trips planned for this year!

I wrote this for a contest on another site, the contest was called Seven, and the premiss of it was that the poet could choose between either the seven sins or the seven virtues and write a poem containing all the words within thier choosen set.

I thought it would be too easy and obvious for me to do the sins, so instead I decided it would be more of a challenge and more interesting to take the virtues and twist them around.
