  1. On the platform: a passing freight train

by , 09-03-2009 at 05:49 AM (Reflections on the puddle of life)
I haven't been posting poetry on the forum, or in my blog for a while. Following a talk from a poetry publisher it seems that any kind of publication, even including that on a writing forum, can disqualify you from submitting poetry for publication in a magazine. So I've been wary of posting any original work on Lit-net because of that. This poem, however, I wrote a little while ago and because it is a little odd I'm not really sure what to do with it. So I thought I'd post it here. It was written ...

    Garden of Sorrows

    Grieve
    within our silent chambers
    lost in the garden
    sewn by our
    tears.

  3. Getting old

by , 09-02-2009 at 01:57 PM (Reflections on the puddle of life)
It's official, I'm getting old. Yesterday I bought a Paul Simon CD and I've been whistling away to 'Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes' ever since. It's a bad sign. Dementia will follow.

by , 09-02-2009 at 12:03 PM (day in a life)
I decided to finally start re-writing a story I wrote (or started to write) years ago about a serial killer, think it will just be a short story but we'll see were it leads me. I want it to take place in late 1800 or early 1900 but I don't know all that much about life in these times so maybe I wont focus on a time frame. I want to explain things from the killers and the detectives perspective but I have never written a story like that so I don't know maybe I should read some books like that to ...

  5. All booked for Canada!! Woot!

by , 09-01-2009 at 01:35 PM (Away with the Fairies- The Travel Diary of an Irish WebFairy)
Went to the travel agents today and I've booked my flights to Canada for January!
    Were reasonably priced too!
Unfortunately i have to fly via Heatrow. I'm not a fan of heatrow and i'm flying in and out of two terminals i've never been in, one and three. (delt with two and four) Slightly Dearer than the Philadelphia route which i opted against because even though i'd just be passing through the Airport i'd still have to apply for a stinking US visa and fill out all the emigration ...
