  1. A List of Things that are Real but Cannot be Measured Objectively

Next to apathy and listlessness on the long list of ideas that I hate, is this one: that in order for something to be real, it has to be measured "objectively" or that it needs "facts" to prove its reality.

So, with this proclamation of bias subjectivity in mind, here's my list of things that are real, but (alas!) unmeasurable:

    1. Love
    2. The stink of a fart
    3. Any understanding of the divine
    4. The idea of wilderness

  2. Hamlet--A Phillstine's Evaluation

In the Book of Acts Chapter 9 (KJV) the future Apostle Paul was asked by someone eminently in authority to know why he enjoyed the hardy sport of kicking against the pricks (goads) which I always thought an odd statement but most of the Lord Christ's questions seem that way at first reading and non-consideration backed up by lack of prayer and proper study. "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' -- she always called me Elwood -- 'n this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.”

Harvey - I begin with this quote because it virtually sums up the simplicity and pleasantness of Elwood, the films protagonist, who, enjoys passing the time in bars and pubs, being a gentleman to everyone (even the most insulting), ...
