  1. Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin

    Slavonic poet
    created so much beauty
    in his short lifetime

    only to be killed
    by a sad jealous Frenchman
    in a Russian field -

    an entire country
that mourned Pushkin's death for weeks

  2. Be Not Silent!

    Be Not Silent!

    Cold eye
    staring down
    at me

    I weigh
    your judgement
    pleading
    for guidance

    to remain
    silent

    I must
    seek out

    captured
    in your
    pure
    abstracted
    light.

  5. What am I missing?

It seems to me that every one I have encounters or come across that reads Jane Austin, ranks Persuasion as being equal to or even better than Pride and Prejudice and I don't get it. I loved Pride and Prejudice, and I have enjoyed everything else I have thus far read by Jane Austin, but I did not in the least like Persuasion.

I personally felt that the writing and prose of it was weak, and the story not very interesting nor memorable. In fact I can remember virtually nothing about
