    My Incomplete Reading List, I can't recall everything. My supply of new books has been curtailed through lack of space. The up side of this is that I've been re-reading books quite a lot this year. The list also shows a lack of focus on any particular genre. I seem to be leaving a recent Greek phase and looking for something else.

    Black Velvet Band

    I remember the touch of the black velvet band
    lain against milky white flesh, soft upon the throat,
    carrisive velvet wakens sweet sentiments,
    while far away, the music plays and I dream
    of gentle constraints which steel my breath
    slowly away, inch by inch, my heart beats
    the counts, of those drums which role across

    With the completion of the paintings for the Stanzas in the Vatican, Raphael's began to broaden his interests and his efforts. He began to apply himself seriously in many fields in a manner that would soon make him one of he wealthiest and most well-respected (and well-connected) artists of the period.
