I wanted to structure this poem in the form of a Villanella but I did not want to be constrained by rigid rhyme so this is modified from the Villanella form.

Poseidon's Bride

Before the sea for her lover she awaits
to fall under forever into eternal depths
sweet maiden upon the rocky shore.

may the King of the Tides claim his bride

I belong to Deviant Art, which is an online art gallery that is free to join, and allows members to post their work in any form of art you can imagine, both visual and written.

I was invited to join this group on DA called The Haiku Club, though they deal with all forms of eastern poetry, and I have always enjoyed the eastern poetry forms, and the reason they asked me to join was because they happened across from of my Sijo that I posted.

This was my entry to the Lit-net short story contest for 2009. The outline came out of a discussion I was having with my husband at the dinner table, which is where most of my story ideas come from. Family is pretty inspirational. Anyway, my story didn't win, which is okay, but it was incredibly fun to write. Especially Edie, Edie really came to life for me.

She’s sitting at the bottom of the stairs wearing ...

I do not normally discuss movies on my blog, in fact this may only be my second one, but I just HAVE to talk about Daybreakers, becasue it is one of the most brillaint and well made vampire movies EVER!!!!!

And we all know how I feel about vampires and all thinks dark and dystoptian.

This was one of the those rare occasions in which they hype (mostly my one personal hype based upon the previews) did not end up doing the movie injustice, by failing to live up to expecations, ...
