Yesterday I was on my way someplace when my car died. Fortunately it died just as I was approaching a Home Depot, so I was able to quickly pull into their parking lot with the last little bit of momentum that the car had. I have just recently finished reading Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, and first of all I just want to clarify that I did enjoy the book, and I found some of the prose to be quite lovely, though I know what I am about to say may sound like a mockery, and perhaps in a way it is, but it is done out of affection.
