    I made an attempt to give the Long Suffering Wife her due and deliberately made it respectful, short and complete absence of teasing.

    The Drama Queen was NOT amused. Already I have her whispering imprecations and rebukes in my ear for retiring Snapjaws one season ahead of his eventaul trip to a dump yard in lieu of a fellow who mows the lawn faithfully every two Thursdays.

    I think I'm dying! my thermometer says 30°c. my garden stands so low that the wind hardly gets here so I am dying! my son is in a kids pool, the kind that took me an hour to blow up! I was sweating like crazy. and I found out that there is a small hole somewhere on it and I can't find where so every 5 minuets I need to add air.

    my toilet broke down a few days ago so my stepdad helped me change it but his big car was busy so the old toilet has been in my yard now for a few days. ...

  3. Ruth Gets A Job

    Finally some news which blogging about.Ruth finally has ben hired as a Medical Assistant for a cardioglogist. Starting out at 30 hours a week and no health benefits but I suspect her lack of need for such (since we have access to Uncle Sam's hospital at Wright-Patterson) helped.

    She had an interview last week and Monday the office called and wanted her to work a week on a trial basis. Thursday they made her an offer.

    I have seriously thought about exploring egg tempera myself as I quite like the manner of building up through hatching, and there is certainly a greater stability to egg tempera (it is far less fragile than pastel). Many artists I greatly admire were also masters of the medium:

  5. "Presentation"- A Work in Progress- continued...

    I spent the day today... the hottest day of the year to date... turning the fan off and on as I added more gold leaf. The heat was so unbearable I couldn't really think straight... which unfortunately shows . I first came to the painting thinking the young girl's dress was too light in value and did not contrast enough with the background... thus I painted it darker. This was too "heavy" in appearance and so I decided to add a pattern in gold leaf. Here I've roughly applied the leaf ...
