  1. Coffee and spring

by , 04-11-2012 at 05:34 AM (day in a life)
Well it's a Wednesday morning and spring has arrived. I don't hate this time of year as much as the summer. It's not hot but it's a bit warmer and I don't need to wear socks, I hate socks! but that doesn't really matter. I took my son to school this morning and walked home to make my cup and work on my essay. Easter has been nice, very quiet and good. I started reading Mansfield Park, it's going very slow cause school isn't over and I don't really have that much time to read for fun. I have a beautiful ...

  2. War and Peace--Over at Last

I began speed reading through the last books of Tolstoy's epic. As I repeatedly said I do not regret the read but decidedly let down on the awe and wonder factor.

I'm starting to view this book as an emsemble cast that is constantly changing places on stage, saying a few words then moving on.

by , 04-06-2012 at 01:59 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
I think that I may have figured out why steam went out of use in transportation. It's too simple, too easy. I used to think of steam engines as a quaint, old-fashioned thing, but recently they came to my attention again in a way that made me go into the matter a little more, and I learned that there were steam engines in the 1920's that had total efficiencies that were as good as or better than most internal combustion automobiles have now. Doble put out models that weighed over 5000 pounds that ...

  5. Getting My Greek On

I have found myself entering into a phase in which I am submerging myself in Aniecent Greek literature, and mythology, which has always reamined a long time interest of mine, though I did not really plan things out this way, it is just sort of the way they came about.

First of all I had not that long ago read the Iliad and a long time ago I saw this special program that was on the history channel, cannot recall what it was called, but it explored various different ancient myths,
