My daughter Sandy and Michael's son Ron turned 2 yesterday. I'm always humming the Ronald McDonalds theme in my head when I'm near but Michael insisted the birth certificate say Ron so Ronnie is off limits in my limited name manglings. Ruth and I were actually off together on the same day and military retirement payday to boot so we saw him today for a short visit. Today is good for two reasons: 1. because my sacrifice for the month of January (for church) is finally over and I can allow myself more than one soda (caffeine!!!!!) and 2. because UCR is starting to notify applicants if they have been accepted.
