  1. My embarrassment

by , 04-15-2007 at 09:32 AM (Barmy Blue's Bland Blog)
Well, this is rather embarrassing. I’ve been away from the forums and it’s been so long since I started a new thread that I’ve forgotten how. Or it could be that my brain’s still asleep. Either way, I’ll get it. Actually, the second I finish this, I bet I’ll figure it out. So why am I even bothering with this? I don’t know. I’ve got an update to do from Easter Monday, and I’ve got to complain about my own stupidity for something I should’ve done but haven’t. I’ll have to do those later.

Well, not much new here...Its still white and cold. I got a large raise, which almost doubles my day rate. I'm on a new rig working shifts by myself. I also moved to a new schedule which will give me more time off (14 days on and 14 days off). I got to see my first Musk Ox the other day. Big lumbering blankets in the distance. 3. gaelic/elvish

I love languages. One of my favorites is the Elvish language created by Tolkien. I think in the summer I'm going to learn it though the internet. There's a site called the Council of Elrond that teaches it for free. According to that site, an approximation of my name in Elvish is Meldamelisse Nolwe.
    Pretty, isn't it?

Another language I'd like to learn is the Irish Gaelic. My current favorite singing group, Celtic Woman, uses it in some of their songs. Here's one of my favorites, ...

  4. Big Barbie Head

When I was little, unlike most of my friends I did not have a Barbie doll. I didn't have a lot of toys actually, mostly because my father didn't think the commercials for most children's toys were honest, and that the toys in question were junk....commercialism cheating children and so on. It was kind of a drag, I never had any of the cool toys that my friends had. I had one plastic Barbie clone, and I did have some stuffed animals, including my beloved sock monkey Melvin and also my Raggedy Anne ...

Well, one of my favorite authors has passed away, and I'm feeling the void of losing a favorite author. I always found some of his books to be so outlandish at first, but then I would warm up to them. Slaughterhouse 5 was one of the first books I read, which so candidly expressed the authors ability to escape his present to wander time (going so far as to have imagined himself living with a movie star on a different planet in all times at once. I applaud him on standing up and saying war is ...
