  1. Never fit in

by , 06-10-2007 at 05:10 PM (Captain Pike's Ship Log II)
After college, I worked for a company whose major customer was IBM. Lots of times, it would be my job to travel to a big IBM facility to work on a piece of equipment or debug some software there. I can remember we usually stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was right off the highway, sort of on the edge of town. When you were a guest at the Holiday Inn they would give you a free drink coupon that you could use in the bar. Naturally, I would begin drinking there. Holiday Inn bars are like malls in ...

  2. More me musing

by , 06-10-2007 at 04:16 PM (Captain Pike's Ship Log II)
My mother loved baseball. I was a tall, healthy boy, she always wanted me to play Little League. The trouble was, I was kind of spastic and uncoordinated. I went to the tryouts basically unprepared -- if I didn't make a team, well, then at least I would have tried.

  3. i dnt get it!

    Another bone of contention:

Why do I see people (many who are obviously intelligent) either unwilling or unable to write properly? It's as if people who write incorrectly go to extremes ...

  4. COMPUTER LITERACY

The weather is currently warm and humid. I'm listening to Beatles-A-Rama on iTunes and romanticizing with those long ago yesterdays that seem like only yesterday. In short, I'm full of myself and will, yet again, blog-out my thoughts (having nothing to do with nostalgia).

Through a series of twists and turns and assorted delays, I arrived relatively late in the personal computer world. Being a quick learner (especially when desperation demands it), I've attained a reasonable pc ...

  5. SOME OPENING WORDS

Creating/ starting a new Blog, here and now, at Lit.com: all systems "GO" and on the verge of being GONE. I don't have much to say at the moment but I'll try to stretch the soup.

Everything's fine here (wish you were here) for want of being anywhere else. ( But I jest...as the kids used to say in ye days of olde.) I had intended to restrict my rantings and ravings to Charles Dickens, but the literary world offers too many opportunities for me to get my two (or three) ...
