  2. Marriage ups and downs

    I've been married for just over 33 years. It was the best thing I've ever done in my life. I guess I could say that having my children was the best, but without my partner, that wouldn't have happened. Actually, I don't believe that anything good would have happened. He's made it possible to have the life I have.

    I've felt the need in the past few days to tell a story that is very close to my heart and has claimed its own little bit of me. It is a story of my mother's parents and their place, or lack there of, in my life. I seek neither pity or absolution in the telling, so please do not feel the need for either.     Work was so easy. All I did was bag. I had some new girl shadowing me so I just let her get straight on. She did good...all I did was stand around and look pretty.
