  1. Parental Reflections

The oh so charming nephew Stephen called and we chatted a bit. His wife, Julie still will not come back or work on the marriage. This no longer surprises me as I've had to reevaluate her the past month or so. While sinned against and having a MAJOR right to be hacked off and expect a husband to ACT the part this 'tough love' process seems to have the effect of keeping the pot at a seething level rather then cooling things down.

When I moan and groan about my three guttersnipes in ...

    The Spice Market

She wanted just the flavour of love, the briefest touch of it on the tongue. Love like cardamom, warm and mellow. Love that was safe. She should have known that love, like her cooking, never quite turned out the way she expected.

  4. I feel bad

Something happened that I don't really like. A very special person to me doesn't think that I'm still alive and breathing. Nobody else in the world exists to him anymore. I'm sad because he is my best friend and he doesn't treat me like one. That makes me sad even more. I want to talk to him about this but he keeps shoving the topic off and he starts another one according to his choosing. All he sees is this another person, which I don't like that much.

What would I do? Well, I have ...

  5. My Best Summer

by , 10-20-2007 at 09:56 PM (Captain Pike's Ship Log II)
I was pretty old, comparatively, the first time I ever got drunk. Not really drunk exactly, but definitely with a buzz on after drinking beer. Not a lot of beer just maybe 3, 4 or maybe 5. We were out at my parents camp, where I grew up as a kid in the summer. It was pretty warm out that day, but not sunny. The clouds were kind of dark I remember. Anyway, somehow, somebody and I got into our canoe. It wasn't a couple of strokes before, you guessed it, we capsized. That's the boaters way ...
