A 24 year old local boy was killed this weekend in Iraq. We live in a small town- the population is less than 400 and so it feels really personal. I just keep crying about it. Maybe it's because I haven't slept much this weekend, but it really is sad that such a young boy had to die over there. He had two children and that makes it worse. What a shame. I have a friend that is going back in a few months. I hate for him to go. I hate to see his mother with tears in her eyes ...
This tale hearkens back to the bachelor days when I was in my prime at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota as Chief Clerk, Orderly Room for the 321st Civil Engineering Squadron (SAC) circa 1976 or so.
