  1. The Hidden Dark

    The Hidden Dark

    Hark!
    the song
    all night long
    of birds caress
    deep where the hearts belong
found a hidden note of distress
a forlorn loneliness they would suppress
the shadow befallen the cries of a lark
such sadness that they would never confess
so haunted by their sweet mistress
a shade that knows its wrong
    under duress
    sound the gong
    for long
    dark.

Little. Kid. Running. Everywhere. Making. Lots. Of. Noise.

My mom is giving the little boy's mom tips on homeschooling and giving her books to start with. . .

Only we are going to dress fancy and cook fancy food. It has me thinking about things I don’t enjoy that every other woman around seem to live for.

Here is the short list of things that drive me nuts. ...

  4. I would like to see...

    Cirque du Soleil

    Most circuses, I cannot go,
I've been, but cannot remember smiling,
    Those grimaced faces, proud
of their authority over beautiful beasts.
Let them go! Let them go!

    No, wait!

They'll get hit by cars or screamed at
    for their innocent tramplings,
    looking for sustenance, their terrain,
a likeness to nuzzle, to stand beside,
    or run and jump, free.

    But this circus, I can

  5. Poems while in Italy

I don't want to clutter up the forums with awful poems by putting all these up but if you'll have fun reading them, please enjoy! These are from the start of my exchange in September 2007.

    A gradual dismemberment

    First, the legs
When I can no longer walk to home
    Or board a bus
    Across wide seas –
The arms go with my family
    My friends; useless here
    Hugs lack strength.
    Like me, they are ghosts
    Memories ...
