  3. The Road Back

    The above title refers to Avengers #22 (original series) wherein in Part Two Captain America brings the good name of The Avengers back from a frame designed to disgrace the team and make them persona non grata to the world.

    Typically upon succeeding in restoring the order of things Cap QUITS the team as he's fed up with their nonsense (my favorite Avenger Hawkeye had a bit to do with that--he grew up later--issue 29 to be exact.)

  4. Thrust Into the Moore-iverse

    Yes, it's true. I've started reading Christopher Moore. He is the author of books with many a colorful title such as, "You Suck: A love story", "A Dirty Job", and "The Stupidest Angel", plus many, many more.

    I've started reading A Dirty Job, and I have to say it may be one of my favorite books. I'm about 1/3 through with it, and I'm enjoying every minute of this emotional thrill-ride.

    It's funny, daring, and funny. Did I mention funny? ...

  5. The Ugly Duckling

    The Ugly Duckling was a fairy tale that made me the saddest I ever felt as a child, though it did have a happy ending. But the way that the other animals treated 'the ugly duckling' left my heart aching and empty that a living creature could be so badly mistreated.
    I led a sheltered life, je suppose, so this may be why the story deeply touched me.
