  1. Black Pearl

    Black Pearl

    I pause and listen
for the sound of my beating heart
    but there is no answer
but the stillness of no sound.

My heart is a black pearl
    sunk beneath the depths
it is not buoyant and cannot
    float above,

    yet it is not faithless
and tries to swim in frigid waters
    with a fading pulse,

    but pearls have not wings
    and mine is not white
    with purity, brine of salt

    of dismal gray.

    Weeping clouds
    like the trees
    alone to bear witness
    as it is set down
    among the dirt and stone.

    Caked in dust
    as if forgotten,

  4. Finally

...I have found an internet connection at my Aunt and Uncles house in Brenham, Texas. So, I got a "go", as we would say in journalism, on the Breaking Dawn midnight release and party at B&N on the first for the final edition to the Twilight Series. I'm dragging my best friend, Dustin to it with me and my other friend, Kevin is willingly going with us. I'm pretty happy. I've been planning this day since I finished book two, the night that I got it. Anyways, we're here for my cousin ...

  5. Reaching out to help

The other evening on a trip to the grocery, I noticed a woman crossing through the parking lot. There was something strange about her, she seemed old and young at the same time. Anyway, as I was leaving I discovered from where she had come. Next to a little lake on the far end of the lot were several shopping carts, very neatly arranged with clothing and baby paraphernalia. Amid these carts was a baby crawling on the grass who was attended by a young man. So this is obvious, right? They must be ...
