  1. History Is on Our Side

Among the more significant topics of in this blog have been Classical Liberalism and the Enlightenment. Those aren't common topics of conversation, but they are behind many conversations that people have, because they can openly converse about many topics, because the Enlightenment happened; the forces of religion were fought back into their caged minds, and we, Classical Liberals, asserted the rights of all to free speech and the other freedoms. Classical Liberalism established the freedoms that ...

  2. Appeal to Authority

by , 03-23-2017 at 06:25 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
This is another in my occasional series of logical fallacies. Appeal to Authority (Latin argumentum ad verecundiam) is quite popular, and some people think that it operates as a trump card. "Allegations are that the U.S. government ...

Saying "hello" so someone you do not know can also make a difference.

Helping to shovel out your neighbor that is elderly after a snow storm. Making sure they have food for the next couple of days.

Little things take nothing to some effort but ...

  5. Better time

by , 03-09-2017 at 08:58 PM (Memories of the 28th Century)
It’s getting near that time when the government dictates that the hour of the day change. Yes, they are doing that again, even though it is disadvantageous to everyone. If we have to change the clocks again, then it should be for a better system. Perhaps we should question the whole system of hours, minutes, and seconds. And we certainly should wonder why it is claimed that midnight is the beginning of the day; we, except for the Bureau of Standards which thinks that the day ends immediately after ...
