The Nation of the Glorious Turnip

Endless Poetry night Part III

Rate this Entry
The always wonderfull nightshade and me had another EPN! This is the result.

I hear no voice
The sound is silence
The strength is faded from words
the message though still clear
in writing, we nerds
Never give up, persevere
EPN, we are here
The voice of Night
always there, perfectly clear

The Miller
The mill works hard today
Wheat to bread and food
It needs to get underway
Rich folk being rude
No care in the mill
The poor need food too
We can't bend to a fool's will
As if the rich even knew
How the Miller does its job
without the poor
they'd starve and sob
without the poor
They too would be obscure.

Elections
Smoke on the horizon
The empty orison
Fire breathing bigotry
All over the country
No respect for others
Fighting amongst brothers
In politics people shout
some even scream aloud
No more others allowed
We should be proud
But what is this pride
that brings us to hide
the troubles and place blame
on those that have nothing, insane!

Ode to Icecream.
Ice-cream, ice-cream, ice-cream
now with extra cream
chocolate vanilla banana mix
Talk about some awesome kicks
In the mouth the stomach and the groin
And what is it? Just some coin
Brain freeze? Not today
Pleasure all the way!
Fun and games all around
So glad we live earthbound.

The Quiet Ones
silence has lease where the loud ones are
We walk amongst them and hear their voices
We are the quiet ones, watching from afar
How they decide, their perfect choices
Who succeeds and who will fail
The loud ones, they scream to no avail
As the quiet ones are silent
Watch them get violent
And shake the pain of ignorance
We watch, and we see
The silent ones we be.

Changes
Never before did I use a smile
To tell tales, to speak and cry
I used to be a so vile
I would make people lie
Use cheat and deceit to get my way
but now, I am broken, I can laugh
Took my bitterness away
I speak on my behalf
have a smile, do not cry
I want you to be my lullaby

Kettle on the fire
Burning up the ire
of all those whistling fools
Wanting tea, but have no cools
To take the kettle and boil
water, tea grown and toil
the soil for a leave of earl grey
I must find a way
To get my tea so hot
I put some water in a boiling pot.

The Mexican
Was it something you ate?
Are you irate?
Did you puke for fun
Or has the vomiting begun?
You are truly sick
In mind and body
I hope you leave, cry
When you vomit, and die.

Frivolous frivolity
A temporal triviality
Wormhole, travel through time
Space is so vast
I get lost in thought
while I fly away
People age, people die.

Tan or burn?
Creme and salve all work together
to make me better
but what they do not know
is that I am quite alright
without, but what a sight
the blisters and scars
will be, I'd be a monster
without the face
of a human lobster.
