Two Presidential Outrages

My wife scolded me. “No yelling at the TV.” How can I help it? Two outrages that got me fired up today.
1. The president takes credit for a successful Iraq? V.P. Biden says Iraq is one of Obama’s “great achievements.” http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/wash...rah-palin.html What? WTF? You mean the President who refused to support the surge and actually voted against it as Senator? The one who campaigned against the war? The one who said (of course he lied) in his campaign he would pull out the troops as soon as he was elected? The Vice President who wanted to quit the war and divide Iraq into three parts? The political party who said the war was lost? Now he wants to take credit for it? Bull sh*t. Bull f’n sh*t. There is one president who envisioned freedom in the middle east, one who had the courage to bring it about, and who hung in there and the guts to rework the strategy when it looked like it was lost. And that president is not the one sitting in office now. God the audacity of some politicians. He’s trying to claim anything for an achievement because in one year he’s got nothing, nada, to show for it, nothing but rejected policy. No, Mr. President, you have no right to claim this as an achievement. No, sir, no f’n sir, no f’n you betcha sir.
2. On the day that Iran claims to now be a nuclear power - whether it’s true or not who knows? - on the day that the Iranian government celebrates its illegitimate anniversary, on the day it stopped cell phones and internet use, and brutally crushed any opposition from speaking or protesting, not a word of support for freedom from our President. Here: http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video....iran.desk.cnn. Where is the moral support from the country that once supported freedom around the world to those brave young people of the Iranian Green movement, those who have stood up at the risk of death, to speak out against this tyranny? Where is the condemnation of this Iranian government and its President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the theocratic Mullahs who rigged their election and killed innocent protesters and silenced any opposition over the past year? Does this administration have any courage to speak with moral clarity? Again and again this administration has refused to utter a word of support to the Iranian Green movement, and now it seems the movement may finally be crushed. What a disgrace. What a cacasotto.
I don't take comments on political matters. My prayers are also with President Clinton tonight, who is in the hospital.
