Halls of the Dark Muse

What happens from reading too much Slaughterhouse-Five

Rate this Entry
I had a surreal experience at the movies today which totally freaked me out at first, because I did not know what was going on, and I thought I went through a time warp or was going crazy, or something weird was going on.

There was this preview of a movie that obviously hasn't come out yet, being that it was being previewed as a new movie, but the whole time I was watching the preview I just kept thinking "I have seen this movie before" And it wasn't just a similar plot, or storyline that has been reproduced time and time again, it was the exact, identical movie that was being previewed that I knew I had seen, because I could clearly recall specific scenes from the movie.

So I was totally like, I really don't understand what is going on here, this is messing with my mind. Well I finally figured out that I saw the original movie that I saw was a British film and it is being remade into an American version.

Once my mom and I rented a movie that had JUST come out, but I swore that I had seen it when I was a kid. I was all like "no, that chick totally dies from smoking a cigarette," and then she dies because she smoked a cigarette that had been dipped in poison. It was so weird.

That is strange, maybe the movie was a remake.

I think what happened is that I was sitting in the same room as someone who had downloaded the movie off of the computer while it was still in theators, but since I wasn't paying attention the recognition of the cigarette scene registered felt like I had seen it a long time ago. I don't remember that happening, but it's my guess.
