This is a style known as Haibun, which combines prose with haiku. My first attempt at using this style.

Fingers touch your face
and I smile in your eyes
warmed beneath your touch....
Embers burn a soft glow through the darkness, our comfort from the howling winds whispering against window panes. While fires paint the shadows in colors or orange and red, reminiscent autumn leaves now long dead. Your skin illuminated beneath the reflective golden flamed halo and that look within your eyes warms my soul. You are the light through the darkness, when winter befalls in shades of gray with long dark nights, and mornings blanketed beneath the white, you shine through as we lie before tongues of burning warmth.
Hold me close to you
whisper softly in my ear
darkness soon will pass
Our love burns an everlasting light.
