Books and the Holiday's

I spent $63 at the book store today, because I had $50 of gift money to spend and I was originally going to B&N to get a date planner book because usually every year my mom gets one for me from the QVC book club because they made these really cool ones and they always came with a mini sketch book. But this year they stopped making them so my mom told me to just pick one out at the book store I liked and she would pay for it as one of my gifts.
So me and my sister went to the bookstore today, though the first 3 or 4 books I was looking for I could not find. Still couldn't find the "Lost" book.
I did end up getting Empire of the Sun by J.G Ballard which was one of the books that was on my least.
Than I couldn't help but to get a book called Sunflowers by Sheramy Bundrick , which was one of the books I tried to win as one of the Goodreads giveaways, and it is about Vincent Van Gogh, so when I saw it at the bookstore I couldn't resist.
But what really put me over the edge was that I have lately having the urge to read Alice in Wonderland. I have always loved Alice and though it is a kids book there is something about it that has a very Goth appeal. And of course what has really put me in the mood for it recently is the fact that a new movie is being made after it and it is being down by Tim Burton who I of course LOVE!
Usually when a book is being made into a movie they have copies out in front easy to find in all of the stores but I haven't been able to find Alice anywhere I looked, and there would be tables and shelves all over with various different classics, but never any Alice.
I finally went to costumer services and asked them and they took me to the children's book section and showed me where the books were, but I just was not wild about the editions they had but I picked one that looked fair enough when my sister told me she saw up front a table that was a bunch of different Complete Collections and there was one for Louis Carol so I went to look and them were these really cool leather bond nice covers and there was a picture of the White Rabbit on the front, and inside the cover was a really cool Alice in Wonderland illustration, so it was a lot more expensive than the edition from the Children's Book section, but it was also a lot nicer looking and because I loved the cover I decided to go for it.
Than I felt bad that I forgot to bring one of my reusable bags with me, so I just bought one of the cheep B&N ones while I was there to use for my stuff.
