a greener government

A few weeks back we had our general elections. Fianna Fail under Bertie Ahern were the majority vote again but they didnt have enough seats to make government on their own so one again Ireland would see a coalition.
All he needed was six more seats, so it came as no supprise when he took in the only two remaining Progressive Democrats and Four of the Idependents. What shocked us all was when, even with enough ministers to hold a government, Bertie Ahern Invited the Green Party to join in with them. After ten days intense negociations, The Green Party, an party that started out as enviormental activists, decided they would form the government with Fianna fail.
This is a historic event, as it is the first time the Green Party has ever been asked/ formed part of a government. Their main priorities are (obviously) the enviornment, and it came as no supprise today when one of their ministers was issued with the ministry for the Enviornment, The other member got the ministry for energy, power and renewable resourse. These are the two eco-seats.
They also want to bring an end to the situation at The Hill of Tara where a plans for a major motorway will be going by Tara through the historic valley of Screen. Recent excavations have unveiled what is possibly a ritualistic site contempory to Tara that is the size of a football pitch.
Lets hope they save my Tara! And I wish them all the best of luck with improving our enviornment and reducing pollution levels!![]()
