From Howards End By E.M. Forster It is thus, if there is any rule, that we ought to die--neither as victim nor as fantatic, but as a seafarer who can greet with an equal eye the deep that he is entering, and the shore he must leave.
DM--have mercy. I have GREAT difficulty reading red on black. I had to take my glasses off and get right on top of the screen. My esteem for you won out this time but it's an experiment I'm loathe to do often. Yes there is a bit of clor blindness to red in my biology according to the Air Force who revealed it during a physical and didn't seem too upset about my worry over if I was seeing Superman's cape properly.
Sorry, I will try to keep that in mind in the future.
It is hard to read and for me a frightening thought even if it was beautifully said. I don't even like water in my face
Nice quote. I get the concept intellectually, but until I am there, I'm not sure I can really understand this emotionally. Death is such an abstract idea, yet so unavoidable.
Applause for that quote. A favorite, I must say.
