Halls of the Dark Muse

I was greeted with a most unusual sight this evening. I went out to feed my cats, a little later than usual because I was out this evening for dinner, and upon stepping outside I happened to notice a raccoon on the deck drinking from the pool. Now while that is not particularly uncommon around here, it was a surprise to walk out on the scene as it was quite unexpected.

So I took a moment to just enjoy the sighting and the raccoon of course was just looking at me like "what up" when I suddenly noticed this large black cat which I have seen around the yard before from time to time, laying on the deck only but a few inches away from the racoon.

They were totally just chillin together like old pals. I was quite transfixed by this sight and just kept looking back and forth between the two, until they finally both took off in opposite directions.
