I just finished a book for school, a book written for kids around 9 years of age. I read every now and then books for teenagers like Sophie's world by Jostein Gaarder and other books by him and of course others. but this one is for younger kids, I haven't read one like that in a while and what struck me the most was how open it was about everything in the boys life. it is written from the boys, Moe, perspective and it gives another light on every subject. he hates people and he is a bit of a bully even though he never means to do harm it just happens..... he has an imaginary friend who is a dead cowboy from Arizona called Gun-Joe. he is in a way portraying the boy's conscience and he reminds him if he is doing something wrong by saying Oh Boy and shaking his head. the book dosen't make kids look like idiots it just tells the truth, 9 year olds know a lot more than we give them credit for. this book just gave me a new perspective like I said on children's lit. a good author dosen't spoil anything either.
I am dog sitting my in laws dog, he is very calm and sweet, even though I don't think everything is alright with him. he was probably raised very badly and he's just having some problems getting over it. My dog Spock was not raised badly I'd say but by someone who didn't know how to raise a good dog, A.K.A. me. but he is very smart and is the sweetest today. I know I have been a lot harder on Sisco because I know now that you shouldn't teach a pup all the things I taught Spock like making a competition out of everything and stealing hats and running off with them, my son does NOT like that one. but my in laws dog Simbi you can see in his eyes that he dosen't feel good, and he dosen't know how to interact with other dogs and just humps every dog that wants to play with him, also my in laws stop it every time the dogs start fighting but I usually just let them finish and then it's over and they start playing again. they need to (up to a certain point) fight their own battles. I have never had a problem like that with my dogs and I just hope Simbi will learn something this weekend.
