NEW YET OLDER

Rate this Entry
I'm still rather new at Lit.Com, and even newer at this Blog (I'm new at blogging in general, for that matter), but I'm getting older as I tread a path through my daily brainstorms...without an umbrella! As I tour some of the blogs here, I can see that I'm up against some stiff competition: many of the writings I've come across are truly superb.

I have a stash of material collecting dust (however flimsy and undeveloped) that I intend to post for your future reading pleasure (I hope). With work and all those other considerations the real world demands of us all, it's not always easy to find the time and circumstances favorable to writing. But I will persist in my endeavors to bring to my imagined audience (of millions) and actual audience (of 1 or 2) the best in bargain basement writing...or your money back (some of it, that is).

PS: It's a strange irony that Paris Hilton failed to attract a crowd to a posting (#5) wherein I'm critical of her and her astounded following. I hope that it was her very name, and not my "cleverly constructed" sarcastic remarks, that couldn't fly here.

I have amazed myself how some blog entries get noticed over others or some of my continued stories don't have the same number of views for each chapter. There was one story regarding a little girl's death that did not garner the expected response though my favorite poster encouraged me about it. I've just settled for posting to please me first and then any readers which I believe is a maxim for writers though I do not preceive MYSELF as a writer -- I see myself more as a sharer of life stories that may or may not be pertinent and helpful/amusing to others. I look forward to reading more from you. I try to read everyone's blog (as a courtesy) but often it is a delight. The poetry blogs continue to mystify me however.

Welcome GFD. Here's a hint: lit-net is perhaps the only place in the world you can go where people actually *don't care* about Paris Hilton. Stephen Gould and James Joyce would garner more responses, though the rest of the world couldn't care less about them.
Think of lit-net as an inversion to the world. Whatever is valued "out there" in the rest of society is de-valued here, and conversely, whatever is ignored out there in the rest of the world is probably highly valued here.

oh yes, I know what you mean. I did a blog entry about Johnny Depp and it garnered a grand total of 80 hits. As compared to my character temperaments with 112 hits up to date. /That's interesting./
