Ok I dont know why I am writing in this now. I have no current fellings about any subject in particular, however I aint wrote owt in a while so here is a new entry maybe something will strike me as I am rambling........
Life goes on: Rangers lose, days pass, Beckham heads to LA LA Land.
Ok, topic decided fitba'........
If you've been paying attention you'll know I am a Glasgow Rangers fan, I have been since I was about 7 (before that I used to chop and change and support whatever team was winning) for the first 10 years it was perfect Rangers won everything in sight and were it not for some funny business by Marseille (later found guilty of bribing officials) would've made it to the European Cup final in 91/92 to play AC Milan. It was a great team: Goram, Nesbit, Robertson, Gough, Brown, Steven, McCall, Ferguson (Ian -a great player my favorite at the time), Huistra, McCoist and Hately. The last 7/8 years has been a real rollercoaster however. Too many foriegn players who didnt care for the team (for prime example see Marco Negri & Mikel Arteta) there have been a few victories but more due to Celtic slipping up than us being totally superior.
It all came to a head this season Paul Le Guen came in with a great reputation (he performed miracles with Lyon in France) but didnt "get" the Scottish game he brought in a bunch of second rate players and we were dreadful. It all came to a head at the turn of the year when he fell out with the captain - Barry Ferguson, once showed promised but in truth has never quite lived up to it after a terrible couple of years at Blackburn which culminated in a broken kneecap, still though a "heart and soul" player. PLG was then gone and we have brought back the manager from the glory years: Walter Smith.
So now the test comes: Can he repeat his past success? and is it possible to go home again? I'll be watching
