question for you

Rate this Entry
Okay, here’s a question for you.
In a science-fiction story do you think it would be possible to alter someone’s chromosomes?
Or more specifically the X and Y chromosomes?
Say if you were cloning someone and, using really futuristic and complicated technology you could alter the X chromosome and change it into a Y so that when the clone grows it turns out as a male instead of a female.
Does that sound at all believable?

I asked mum but she’s no help in these kind of matters.

Just a thought. I had nothing interesting to say.
Surely there’s something to say.
Well, there is one thing.
I don’t have to do any revision now until this afternoon because that’s when we’re getting our pre-release for our synoptic paper. I’ve dealt with one before, so I’m not too worried at the moment. I’ll just have to wait and see.

I think that’s all for now.

Bluebiird out.

Science was always a poor subject of mine. But in comic book land his male/feamle thing would not be a big deal. I know the Defenders had a character (Cloud) that changed sexes and I'll bet the X-Men have by now.

I thought so. Biology wasn't my thing either, though I did okay in physics. The idea is (I'm still planning it out) my main character (female) needs to infiltrate some place or other, but they only accept males and the only male they have they all agree wouldn't do. She knows she'd be perfect for the job if she were male. Then an idea hits her and she decides to clone herself but alter it before it grows so that's it's male. She gives it all of her knowlege and abilities at the time. She uses something or other (still deciding) to make it age quickly and so she ends up with a perfect clone of herself, mind and all, but male. From then on they're always mistaken as twins and so that's what they call themselves and accept each other as siblings (meaning they fight like siblings too )

Have you ever seen the movie Vertual sexuality? The main character goes to so fair (sciences fair or something) and goes into this machine thats supposed to show you...was it you male/female version of you or your ideal man/ woman? can remember....anyway the machine malfunctions and out come this guy with the girls mind frame. She thinks she's been turned into a guy. It turns out that the machin created a male clone of her and she also came out of the machine.
