Halls of the Dark Muse

One thing leads to another

Well I find myself faced with a dilemma, a very insignificant and meaningless dilemma, but last night I watched this Georgia O'Keefe movie on Lifetime, which in itself was a dilemma for me. I am not the sort of person who watches Lifetime, as more oft than not it is little more than a parade of chick-flicks, sappy romances, cheeseball "heartwarming" malarkey *gag* It is a channel that it aimed at a female audience, which is exactly what drives me away, I would sooner be more inclined to watch Spike TV.

But I can nearly never resist a story about a real life artist, poet, writer, etc... and I do enjoy O'Keefe's work and knew a little about her background and thought she did have an interesting life, so I figured I would give it a try, and it really wasn't too bad, they did not try and sap it up too much.

Well while I was watching the movie there was an advertisement for another movie, of which I at first thought was in fact another Lifetime movie, as it looked like the sort of thing Lifetime would air, but later discovered it was an actual theater movie. And it just looked like a horrid stinking pile of romance. There was nothing in the least bit appealing about the movie, and my initial reaction was Hell No!

Then, I discovered that it happens to be about John Keats, now granted he is not even really one of my favorite poets, I like a few scattered things here and there by him, but don't read him regularly and some of his stuff I just groan when attempting to read it.

But nonetheless, the fact that the movie is about the poet Keats, is tempting enough to almost make me cave in and see it, even though if wasn't for Keats there would be nothing at all in the least appealing to me to see that movie.

And of course being a movie the lines of fact will no like be heavily blurred if not erased entirely, so really just the use of his name is enough to make me almost break down and go against my movie principles.

First of all, I like women that prefer spike TV over Lifetime.

Second, as to your dilemma, watch the movie and if in the first half hour it sucks, move on. Am I missing something? Heyh when is the movie. I would like to watch it myself.

Third, your title of this blog reminded me of this song:

    I love that song.

Haha, I have always been "one of the guys"

    I don't have a single girlfriend, but I have 5 guy friends.

I am not sure when the movie is acutally coming out.
