Foxgloves

For the last year or two i've been growning some Foxgloves. It was quite time consuming as i'd grown them from seed and i was afraid they wouldnt grow because i didnt have very much time to look after them. Once they were big enough to be planted in the soil my dad was kind enough to take care of them for me and keeped them nicely watered.
This year they flowered. And because i'm so proud of them i had to share them with you all! So i got out my camera and took some pictures and here they are! Hope you like them as much as i do!

    Very pretty flowers, although I confess, I'm pretty ignorant of horticulture and thought foxgloves were - er - fox gloves.

    Those pictures are fantastic, Niamh! And you say that you started these beauties from seeds? That is awesome, thanks for letting us see your foxgloves!

    You know you can use the flowers & stem of foxglove (digitalis) to make some pretty potent poisons.

    Yes i grew them from seed. I decided to see if the whole talking to your plants makes them grow thingy actually works and... well it appears that it does! I'd also tried to grow some lavender but that didnt grow. The amazing thing is that the foxgloves have already seeded elsewhere and my dad and myself have discovered new plants sprouting up in places they shouldnt be! Lets just say my dad isnt all too happy as he doesnt really like Foxgloves. But he thinks they look really well in the garden at the moment!

    Yes because i chose a flower that is poisonous my dad has started calling me a witch!

    very pretty! I love foxgloves: my Mom has them in her garden. And my sister used to take heart medication made from digitalis.
