Halls of the Dark Muse

I won a free book

Rate this Entry
I will really board at night, but did not yet feel like going to bed, but there was nothing on TV and nothing to do, hardly anyone around (online) I was messing around on Goodreads to waste time until I finally had to resign to go to bed. And I discovered that Goodreads has these book giveaways, in which publishers will submit to them a limited number of upcoming books, to give away in a random draw with the intent and hope of receiving early reviews on the book. Though it is not absolutely required it is highly encouraged that if you do when a "First Read' as they call it, you post a reviews for it once you finished.

Well I figured just for the heck of it I would enter a few (as there was a long list a books that were currently being offered in the giveaway) that sounded interesting, but I didn't really expect to win, as most the books only had like 5 copies available and more then a 100 people, one some of them, a little over a 1000 who were already entered. But it couldn't hurt at any rate I figured.

So I was quite surprised when I received an e-mail telling me that I had actually one a book. I was just getting ready to go to bed when I got the e-mail, so then I was too hyped up to sleep and at like around 12:30 or so past midnight, I had to text my boyfriend to tell him I won a free book.

Of course now I am going to get addicted to it and always be checking for new books to try and win.

It is called Guernica: A Novel (I cannot think of the author's name off the top of my head.) It sounded like it could be interesting.
