What have I to say?

What have I to say today?
Nothing much.
In my planning so far;
The first Anne Bonny and Grace O’Malley now have ships to their names and I’ve had the first Anne Bonny married to the first Jack Rackham. Davy Jones was the first pirate lord to die (under suspicious circumstances) and his wife (he had a wife) Died during childbirth two months after. The child also died and its death too was suspicious. It’s widely believed that the first Jack Rackham had something to do with both deaths. No one knows why he chose Davy Jones first. It could be because Jones was the first pirate to team up with Bartholomew Roberts in the signing of the General Brethren Codex (a pirate code that all pirates were to uphold, though each captain could create their own rules aboard their own ships providing they kept to the general code.) Rackham always hated the code. He was the last to sign; in fact he was forced into it by the other nine. Roberts was a man of honour and considered a gentleman among pirates, which explains why Rackham hated him so much. The fact that Roberts could actually spell gave him reasonable status (few pirates can spell, even in the later years, they spelt Rhino as Ryno and were unable to spell shanghai so they said SH instead).
Now the history’s pretty much done, I’d better get back to fleshing out the crew of The Revenge and deciding on an attribute to give the later Jack Rackham, something that suits his domain. Edward Morgan has gills behind his ears and slightly webbed toes, being the Pirate Lord of the sea. Grace Read seems to have picked up an unusual asset, a grip like a gecko, which explains the nickname that I’ve just given her, Gecko Grace; seeing as she’s Pirate “Lady” of the land. But Rackham’s the Pirate Lord of the sky and it’d seem a bit tacky to make him fly.
This may seem a bit confusing. I forget that what’s in my head isn’t necessarily what I’ve blogged.
Right. This is all set in the future, way way into the future and is centred around a tiny solar system which currently has no name (I’m still working on it). It has a very small sun (smaller than ours) which is only strong enough to hold a total of four planets. The closest is very small and very hot with a surface resembling grey blisters. The second is very earth like with a perfect climate for supporting life. This is where the pirates live. The next planet is a barren waste even though it has a breathable atmosphere. This planet is believed to be deserted but it’s not. It’s the home of a secret laboratory. The last planet is very small and very cold. It’s believed to be ice right the way through and the superstitious pirates think that yeti’s live there (It later turns out they’re not wrong).
Because this is another time and space () there’s spaceships going past here and there and aliens too. The pirate planet is perfect for various species of aliens so though the general population appear human there are a lot of alien pirates too and they’ve all intermingled over time. Though the current pirate lords are mainly human and look perfectly human, they’ve inherited one or two “superhuman” abilities from aliens in their bloodline, but they have to be advantageous abilities, not silly ones like Calico Jack (the owner of a local tavern). He’s wanted for three counts of arson, even though they were actually accidental because he had a bit of alien blood in him which gives him a slightly different digestive system. When he breaks wind it comes out as a highly flammable (though non toxic) gas and people will insist on having candles and fireplaces
.
I think this idea is starting to lose its momentum now. I’m running out of things to make up. Perhaps I should start writing it up properly.
Anything else?
Oh, well today’s sandwich is smoky bacon paste. It’s okay but both of the pastes just seem a bit dry and they seem to somehow catch in your throat a bit and the flavour’s not all that great. But as I found when eating the remaining jar of corned beef and onion paste a few days ago (you have to consume it within 3 days of opening it) it’s much better with some tomato sauce. So I put that in the sandwich too. It makes an interesting flavour.
Anything else?
Um…. Nope, don’t think so.
Well, looks like that’s it then.
Bluebiird out.
