Better than TV

I was just getting ready to head for bed when I happened to witness something rather interesting. My lizard has exhibited a behavior I have not yet seen before which is both intriguing and amusing.
I have deduced from watching him previously that it seems he hunts primarily from sight/motion. It seems that he can only really something of it is moving. Sometimes it can be quite funny, when I feed him he will sit on his rock and wait, and when one of the crickets catches his attention he will dart after it, but if it stops moving he will suddenly freeze completely baffled even if the cricket is in fact right in front of him, for him it is as if it just vanished in thin air.
And well sometimes he doesn't always eat all of his crickets at once in a day, and they find places to crawl off into to hide and this time of year because it is their mating season they start making noise, so I can hear them in there chirping, and apparently lizards do have a sense of hearing, previously I have never seen him react to their chirping before, but tonight, he is totally freaking out, because he figure out where they are but he hears them, and he keeps running around his cage trying to find out where they are, and trying to jump up the walls, and looking all around. It is really quite entertaining.
