Happy Lizard Dance

Rate this Entry
I am excited because I just got my lizard back today, as I had to have him boarded while I was on vacation and Sunday they were closed, and Saturday was the day we got home so it would have been too hectic, so I had to wait until today to get him back.

I always hate having to leave my animals in the care of other people even though I had confidence in the competent ability of those I left him with, since they make their living in taking care of reptiles and he looks quite perky and happy to be home again.

Some people might say reptiles don't know the difference but he was always for curious and perceptive and always had to know what is going on around him, so I believe he recognizes his surroundings and when I first went to pick him up he came running up to the window and was looking at me like "what is going on now"

And because between my snake who I have had for years and my lizard now, we have been such a long time costumers of them, they gave us a deal on the boarding. It normally cost 10$ a day, but if you bought the terrarium from them for the animal you are boarding then you only have to pay 5$ a day, and my snakes home I bought from them, but my lizard's home I have had for years, but they still only charged us 5$ instead of the 10$.

That's sweet and cute that he's glad to be home. The whole snake/lizard thing reminds me of Hagrid and his eternal love for baby dragons.

LOL yes, I am a bit like that, I do like the reptiles and the creepy crawlies.

I really hate boarding my dog too, and I know she hates it. They do love it when they get home. I think change of routine is more shocking to an animal than to a human. I guess a human can understand what is going on and plan for an adjustment. An animal really has no conception.

Agreed Virgil! My sister went on holiday for a while, and her dog would first stay with a friend of hers and then at my parents. My parent's place is like a second home for him and he loves it there, gets along really well with the cats too. But when he was at the friends place he felt unhappy and actually escaped once and ran back to my sister's home, which isn't that far away.

Yes, I think my lizard was a bit rattled from the experince, he is a bit more hyped up now as he was when I frist got him, though in a few days hopefully he will calm down a bit more. With my cats and rabbits I can just have someone come over to the house to make sure they have food and water, and snakes are pretty low maitence, I just feed her before I have to leave and she will be fine until I get back, but lizards need speical and daily care so he had to go with someone use to dealing with them.
