Yes, I’m back (on the computer with the crappy space bar) and I’m feeling piratey.
Why you ask?
Could it be because I’ve seen POTC3 three times over three weeks with mum?
Could be.
Or could it be that all I can think about is my space pirates?
Could be.
Probably a bit of both.
We’re planning a fourth visit to the cinema because mum reckons that the films on my to see list aren’t out until next week. I’ll have to check myself though. At the moment there’s Fantastic Four: Rise if the Silver Surfer and Transformers on my list. I’m not sure if there’s anything else on it yet, but those are definitely the main two.
It was a very long time ago when I was even able to catch glimpses of the Silver Surfer on Sunday morning TV. I don’t remember anything about it except he flies around in space and he’s silver. I picked up a bit more of his history from a Fantastic Four episode a couple of years ago (which I just happened to catch and haven’t been able to see an episode since) Evidently, it had Ghost Rider in it too and I think it might actually have been a short while after Tom and I both saw the first film. Strange.

At the moment mum and I seem to share the same theme (though for different reasons) Pirates. Me for the reasons stated above and her because she has a particular liking for Captain Jack Sparrow.
I wonder if the pirates are responsible for my good mood or if that’s Doctor Who (my twice weekly sci-fi fix) or it could just be hormones but I don’t see how, because I’ve been reasonably cheerful for the passed few weeks and my hormone induced mood swings last about two, possibly three weeks tops before they change. Not that I’m complaining, I’m just wondering if I’ll have another bad depression. I hope not. Actually, I wonder if it’s because I’m cutting my ties with Tom, string by string. I’m trying to detach from him and it seems to be going okay. I’ve slowed down emails (though he had a hand in that too) and removed all chat. I wonder if we could be friends again, like we used to be. Who knows, perhaps we will, when we’ve both done a little growing up (mentally).

?
Nightmare on Elm Street?
Sorry, I’m eavesdropping.
Friday the 13th!
Jason X!
Wow, this is spooky.
I’ll elaborate.
I’m in the common room (I’ve no lessons on Tuesdays now, I’ll explain later) and I’m listening to Sam Jaguar chatting to a girl, I perked up my ears at Nightmare on Elm Street.
Why you ask?
Because just a couple of days ago (the Saturday I think) I was staying up late and flicking through the channels on the digibox. And came across Scream. I hate horror films, even “comical” ones. I was playing a game on the computer so I wasn’t really paying attention, I had the sound quite low too.
The killer was talking on the phone to his victim (names escape me, it doesn’t really matter who it was) and I heard her say Jason Voorhees in answer to a question he’d asked her on the phone. I listened then, because not long before (I think I mentioned it in my last entry) I saw Jason X and I remembered the name Jason Voorhees. The killer told her she’d got it wrong and the answer he was looking for was Jason’s mother and killed some guy and I think the title Friday the 13th was mentioned too. I kind of stopped following.
What’s this got to do with anything you ask?
Patience, all shall be revealed.
When I saw Jason X I had an idea to look it up in IMDb and find out the history of the character but I never did. I stopped following the film and looked up Friday the 13th on IMDb. I was amazed by the number of results and started trying to read the plots in order, to get the jist of the story. I don’t think I’d ever watch the films though, I don’t like horror films, but I wanted to know the story. I also remembered hearing of Freddy vs. Jason and so looked it up and read the plot, but now I was intrigued by this other character, so I got Freddy Krueger’s name (because I wasn’t sure how to spell it ) and searched and found Nightmare on Elm Street. I’d heard of it, and of Freddy Krueger but I didn’t know they were connected. So I looked up the plots of the Freddy Krueger films too and got the general jist of his story.

So, why the interest in the conversation behind me, therefore disrupting my entry?
Because I think that I must either have some kind of minor psychic ability or something or be the subject of serious coincidences.
Some small examples;
The conversation behind me, of course.
Thinking about a particular Simpsons episode I’ve seen and then it being shown between a week or two later (not always but it happens)
Thinking about a particular song I’ve heard recently (or recently remembered) and then hearing it somewhere like on the radio a while later.
One time on the bus from school I started thinking about The Shining a few weeks after I’d seen it (I didn’t see much of it but mum gave me the plot) and on the bus from the station that day there was an advert for Sky (I think) With a picture from The Shining and a caption relating to it which I can’t recall now.
Not long after seeing the first Fantastic Four film I caught an episode of the Fantastic Four cartoon which mentioned the Silver Surfer (but didn’t show him) and Ghost rider (both of which became films I was/am eager to see)
Serious coincidences or something else?
The smarter of you would probably say that it’s all just coincidence and perhaps that because I think about something I’m made more aware of it so I might listen for it more or something (like with breathing. You don’t notice it until you think about it but when you think about it you consciously do it until you forget you’re doing it (which is exactly what has just happened to me for thinking about breathing) Come on, confess, how many of you started having to think “breathe in…and out… breathe in…and out” after reading this?)

Now, back to my update.
The week before last mum had her exam (I think) and on the Thursday we went to see POTC3 (meaning we missed Hustle, but we missed it the week before because I went to bed early because I was sick and mum went to the office to do a bit of work and revise and got home late (This is pointless by the way, I guess it’s just a kind of reference for me)) Then we saw it on the Sunday I think and then we saw it this Saturday passed. I don’t mind, I’ll quite happily see it a fourth time. It’s already inspired me to have the pirates “hoist their colours” in battle, create a pirate anthem (which’ll need some tweaking otherwise I’ll be breaching their copyright), have three main (they call them primordial) gods/goddess who still have some followers, one being a priestess for the Goddess Calypso, the last of her order who wants to live forever and continue her worship; so when ever my pirate captain goes to her for help, she demands at least two pints of blood from her as payment (because she can’t die), I’ve included three pirate lords/lady there were ten in the beginning but the other bloodlines slowly died out or joined together, a great battle seen between the pirates and an armada and introduced the idea of pistols with special bullets for the captain to use during fights. I’ve also started giving them a bit of a wardrobe too.
On the bus home I recalled researching red pirate flags in the morning so I added into the battle the fact that the captain orders them to “raise the red flag” to which the crew gasp with horror. Because the red flag signals that they will “give no quarter”. The Jolly roger is too common and is just a way of knowing who’s who (because each flag is unique to each captain) and is mainly ceremonial, but some pirates also have a red jolly roger which has a slightly more gruesome design which they only raise during a war to show their enemies that they will kill every last one of them.
Upon seeing her red flag, the other pirate captains are rather horrified, because they know its kill or be killed. After a brief moment, they order their red flags too. It would mean full scale bloodshed (but the enemies are robots (because these are space pirates remember? Obsessed with old pirate legends)).
It’s rather fun and I find myself forever dipping into their pirate world and just feeling happy and not caring about anyone or anything.
Which proved useful yesterday.

Yesterday was my first exam AS Business (I’m actually doing A2 but it’s a long story). Last year I was late for an exam and I’d have just made it if I’d gone to the right place. I went to the assembly hall only to be told it was up in the seminar room, so I encountered Anita who was going to the same exam and also late and told her we were upstairs. So we rushed upstairs and encountered our year leader…oh, sorry “Director of learning”, Mr Featherstone who yelled at us for being late and said back that I was sure the timetable said we were in the assembly hall. After that exam I checked. It had said seminar room. I was so annoyed.
So this year I figured I’d get smart and asked him where AS business was. He didn’t know and referred me to someone else who just said she didn’t know and to turn up 20 minutes before to find out. The crappiest advice ever.
About 10-15 minutes before the exam I got up and walked around the school (seeing as it was a 3 hour exam) Tried to ask where my exam was, encountered Dan Evelyn (who had the same exam as me) and went back downstairs. I asked Mr Fernando where the exam was. He didn’t know but asked us to wait outside with the others who had exams (GCSE maths). It was a total shamble. We met two others from our class. They went to check the sports hall. I checked the seminar room. I had a horrible feeling we were there but I had a horrible feeling we weren’t. I met the rest of the class and they went on their way. We weren’t in the seminar room so I rushed back to where I’d left Dan but he wasn’t there so I rushed to the sports hall and was about to ask the teacher if my exam was in there when some scruffy lower years turned up and she focused all of her attention on making them remove their coats and asking where their ties were. It was infuriating, especially when more turned up similarly attired. Eventually I got to ask here and my exam was right at the other end of the sports hall. I was the last one to arrive. Dan and I exchanged glances, saying typical. I sat down and fanned my face with the card they put on your table with your ID number and name while I waited for them to sort those horrible little children out. I was thinking about my pirates as I took my seat and thought so what if everyone looks. I don’t care. Besides, Why would everyone look, It’s not like I’m that interesting.
I rested my watch on my pencil case to time myself with (I didn’t think it’s work because I always forget when it said the exam started.)
Three separate papers. Three hours. My hand was killing me. And it was about five by the time it finished. How’d that even happen. It should’ve started at 1:30. Just another example of how crap my school is.
Strangely enough I found that I answered every question (not necessarily always correctly, but I managed to answer them all and sum up my argument (albeit briefly) in the last question). I stuffed up on the maths questions though. I’m crap at maths.

And that’s why I’m free all day now. Because once you’ve done the exam you don’t have to go the lesson. Yahoo! Because we had a really ****ty teacher covering Ms Kane on Tuesdays and only two of us ever bothered to turn up and stay for the whole two lessons.

I’m sure I had more to say.
Jason, Sally and I had another discussion about nothing in particular in ASDAN. Sally and I even got onto the subject of school summer dresses and socks with patterns, which Jason couldn’t make any sense of (having never had to wear dresses with nicely patterned socks ) Actually the conversation started from Sally complaining about the school toilets and me saying that in primary school they were always fine (They were cold but fine) and they had that horrible toilet paper which was actually paper, a bit like tracing paper which Jason remembered but Sally didn’t have a clue then Jason told me about some of the funny and insane things that happened in his primary school. Jason told us about one boy who’d somehow managed to get paper cuts from using the papery toilet paper to which we all cracked up.
I’m going to miss these chats in ASDAN.
At break (while Sally was breaking into her pro plus (Probably not spelt that way but I don’t care)) Jason told me that his first exam was next week to which I had to say you lucky bastard, mine’s today, for three hours. He only does chemistry, since his IT coursework was done. The lucky bastard .

Oh well. I think I’m done. I’m sure there was more, but I can’t think of them now.
