This past week has been somewhat frustrating and exciting. I reviewed and re-reviewed all of our paperwork to make sure everything looked in order before I had my friend notarize all our documents. The documents were notarized on Wednesday and mailed to our adoption coordinator on Thursday. Just before I mailed the documents I looked them over one last time and realized I made a boo-boo
I had signed my husband's document by mistake and he had signed mine. Rather than wasting time I mailed them out as is and included a note indicating I will correct them for the next go round. While I was out running errands on Friday we received a call from our adoption coordinator. My husband was home to take the call and he told me when I got home to call her back. The conversation went like this:
Husband: Leonette called
Me: What did she want?
Husband: She received the paperwork but some minor changes need to be made
Me: What changes ?
Husband: I don't know you handled all the paperwork
Me: Argh!!!!!

I called her up and she went over the minor changes that need to be made. No big deal. I was seeing my friend on Sunday anyway so she resigned some of the documents. Then came the unexpected news.
Coordinator: You are missing a page in the homestudy
Me: What ? Are you sure?
Coordinator: I can't seem to find the Letter of Recommendation
Me: I know it's there, let me double check.
Coordinator: I know it was done because I remember seeing it the first go round
Me: After rifling thru the stack of old papers I found it. I said "****"!!.
I somehow forgot to get the letter updated when I had to get some other documents updated last month. I told her I will get this taken care of as soon as possible.
Made phone call to Homestudy Agency explaining what I needed. The person who typed it up was not in today but will be in tomorrow. "Fine, just have her call me first thing in the morning."

Fast forward. I'm having lunch with my mom at Wendy's (chicken nuggets and a side salad) and I hear my cell phone ring. I'm not picking it up because I am eating my lunch.
I get home and retrieve message and it's my adoption coordinator. Uh oh was my immediate reaction. "Call me and I also sent you an email". I read the email first and said to myself "Not another change", oh crap!!. I call her up and she asks me very hesitantly how am I doing because she knows how frustrating the paperwork can be. She tells me that I need to have some additional information put in the Homestudy. Keep in mind that I had already contacted the Homestudy Agency this morning about the Letter of Recommendation, so I have to contact them again about the additional information that is needed.

On a good note, yes there is some good news to announce, the rest of the documents have been sent for translation. The ball is rolling

I think I'll have a drink now!!
