Halls of the Dark Muse

I am Your Albatross

Rate this Entry
Virgil gave me this idea.

I am Your Albatross

I choose to hang myself upon you,
draped across your shoulders
my burdens spread out
at your feet.

From my grip upon you
there is no release,
my obsession strangles
as I possess you.

Bear me up in fortitude,
keep me afloat in life,
even as it weighs you down
sinking you further to the
ground.

Tangle myself up with you,
relying wholly upon you
to keep together the threads
of my sanity.

All of my damage
etched from the past
is given over to you,
for your hands and will
to stitch and mend.

So my hold remains,
choked around you
as you sustain me, patiently supporting
my every eccentricity which
entwines with the fabric
of your life.

For either you stand with the strength
to hold me high above fragility,
or you shall fall beneath me,
and we both shall drown
within my emotional tides.

Oh great!! I love it Dark Muse. At first I was wondering what happened to my comment from yesterday. And then I noticed.

"I choose to hang myself upon you" - What a great openning line!!!

Hehe thank you, it was a fun write. As soon as you made that comment it just stuck in my head, and I had to take it and run with it.
